Welcome to Oak Crest's Special Education Department
SDUHSD is committed to providing a Free and Appropriate Public Education for all students found eligible under the guidelines of the Individuals with Disabilities Act. The Special Education department works collaboratively with school and district leaders, teachers, students, and families to provide the tools, guidance, supports, and services needed to ensure access and success for students with exceptional needs.

As an integral part of the SDUHSD public education system, the special education department ensures education is provided in a manner that promotes maximum interaction between children or youth with disabilities and children or youth who are not disabled, that is appropriate to the needs of both. SDUHSD provides a full continuum of program special education service options to meet the educational needs of students in the least restrictive environment.
